This is WIDGETS YEAR

This year, 2007, in my opinion it could be called “Widgets Year”. Why? Because widgets are all over the blogosphere and because a lot of big companies have launched their own “line” of wonderful thingies that make our live easier. The best example I can give for my statement is that in the last two weeks the, three types of widgets were released.
The first one is Blogrush, whose owner is John Resse, the famous internet guru who made one million dollars in 24 hours. Now I won’t talk about John, maybe in a future post, but his widget is fantastic because it is sending you free traffic. For every impression your widget makes, you get an impression on one of the websites from the category you are in. You can find more info here.

DMOZ and the effects of their corruption!

As you all know DMOZ is one of the biggest web directory on the internet. Why? Because it’s free, everyone can submit his website and wait(and wait, and wait) for one of the dudes (so called editors) to accept them. Nothing wrong you say, but this f**king organization is so corrupt, that some of the editors will accept your website only if you pay them big cash. A nice example is when Shoemoney, was asked to pay 5000$ if he doesn’t want his link to be deleted. Of course, he didn’t pay and so his link disappeared from the famous directory. Another example is an ex editor, Joost de Valk, whose account was banned because he only wanted to know why Shoemoney’s link was deleted (you can find more info about him here). Also at this link you will see a lot of people who pay money and editors that accept to list their links in 1,2-10day.

Domain names researching

Domain names are very important for SEO when you try to build a niche website that will bring you money. All internet monetizers know that buying a domain that contains one or two keywords is better than having a subdomain with the same words.
When researching for domain names try to locate names with as many important keywords for you. If you don’t find your desired domain name, try using dashes.I think and from my experince, seperating the domain with dashesis good for serch engine optimization, for example www.computerparts.na the google bot tends to take the domain as it is and it will interpret it like www.computerp arts… using dashes is easyer for the bot to read.

So for customer friendly domains try to chose short names that can be memorated by people, easy to type and good for branding. For search engines and niche websites that help you make money try to chose long, keyword rich names that can be easy to find.

Oh, and for the domains you can chose from all the extensions because they are all treated the same by bots, especialy by the google bot, (content has a big influence for this), but if you don’t want to lose some traffic try tor register the dot com domain because people tend to memorize and type this extension first. Good luck with your domain hunting

Using free webtools to search for keywords

Some of you know that on the internet are a lot of ebooks that learn how to make money online with niche websites, but in fact a lot of them are created to sell some products. An example of such software is Keyword Elite, that can be found in almost every ebook on the net. This software lets you analyse keyword searches, results … and other stuff. My question is why buy such software when you have a lot of free webtools on the internet? In this post I would like to tell you some of the free tools.
K so first of all when creating a niche website you need to analyse the market, with what websites your are in comptetition and so on…
The first tool that is free is, yes Google. For example if you like to see the number of websites that have in their content the keyword phrase you are looking for, you will have to search for that keyword and phrase and I advise you to use quotation marks “”. You can see an example the next image and it is good to know that the lower the nr of pages founr is the gooder ther market is:
