ACOSMINTECH v1 free wordpress theme

Here’s a new freebie from me, ACOSMINTECH wordpress theme, available for download and personal use 
.
Wordpress theme specs:
- Two sidebars – one with a width of 300px and the other with a width of 125px.
- SiFR – after thinking a while I came to the conclusion that using sifr for the headings in the sidebars are the perfect solution, because anyone can edit them.
- AD spots – all types.
- Widget ready – yes, this wordpress theme is widgets ready, both sidebars are compatible.
- Included PSD file – for the logo. Just save it as a png file with transparency and it should be fine.
- Gravatars – for comments.
- Tags – only in the article and you can add a tagcloud in the 300px sidebar.
- Navigation – I know there are only three buttons “home, about, contact” (not enough space) but I’ve included in the 125px sidebar the rest of the links for the pages …
- Valid XHTML and CSS
- No sponsored links or things like that so please leave my links intact.
NOTE: Beta version, I will add things to this wordpress theme so stay tuned … you can subscribe to my RSS feed. Also you can buy me an icecream (it’s damn hot outside) through a small (or large 
) donation via Paypal. (paypal account cozminst at yahoo dot com) and digg it with the button bellow the download link.

I must be the only one who can’t get it to work. When I click to preview it, I only get a blank page. What am I doing wrong? I downloaded the link and uploaded everything into my theme folder. Thoughts?

Hi acosmin, I love your new theme, unfortunately I can’t get it working. When I try to set the theme I get: “Fatal error: Cannot redeclare recent_comments() (previously declared in /home/…” I tried to deactivate the plugin “recent comments” with no luck this doesn’t solve the problem. What can cause this error? Using the last version of Wordpress. Thanks in advance.

First try what I said and also deactivate the plugin from your wp-admin. After this rewrite the php code where it was, in sidebar.php and don’t activate that plugin.

@admin,
I figured it out. I had the page nav plugin running, and your theme already has that incorporated (I think), so it was conflicting. Deactivated the plugin and it’s working beautifully now. Once again, great theme, man. well done!

One question Acosmin if you dont mind, how do you change the number of recent posts on the sidebar to show more than 5 and shorten the recent comments to show at the most 5? if you could email me at pheakt@gmail.com?. thanks for your help and for the themes you make.

Well you have to edit the functions.php file. For recent comments find the line
function recent_posts($no_posts = 5, … change 5 to what number you want and for recent comments the same, find function recent_comments($no_comments = 10, change 10

I’m new to Wordpress and am trying to figure out how to change my blog’s title (it is the Dating Britney theme). It should have changed automatically when I uploaded the theme but only my blog’s description changed. I checked the settings in my admin panel,and the blog’s title is correct, it just isn’t reflecting in the theme(Dating Britney). I looked through the style sheet but have no idea where to insert the title myself…. All suggestions would be much appreciated.

I changed my theme from the Dating Britney theme to the Typography theme and the problem with your “title” still persists; now even with the option to change the title to what it SHOULD read (the true title of the blog) the words PREVIEW and/or THEME is still hangin’ around in the header. Could you PLEASE tell how to remove this–either for the …Britney theme, the Typography theme, or both? I would really appreciate it ‘cuz this is driving me nuts!

Any idea of how to contact the designer of these buggy themes? The design features are a nice idea but it would be even better if we could actually use them; or at least get a RESPONSE to questions about how to fix the themes’ issues–especially considering those of us who know nothing about correcting themes that are not designed to specifications……..
The only other suggestion it seems is to use another designer’s theme (which I have done) that actually works. Otherwise you’ll have to simply hang around here in cyberspace asking other theme designers how to correct someone else’s….mistakes. Thanks for NOT getting back to a potential user regarding your theme-design issues, whoever you are…..
