Apple CEO Steve Jobs says the iPhone 4, which debuted on Monday, is the “biggest leap forward” the iPhone has made since it was introduced in 2007. The newly announced phone has “one of the most beautiful designs you’ve ever seen,” Jobs said at a tech conference in San Francisco.

“This is without a doubt the most precise thing and one of the most beautiful things we’ve ever made.”

As you all know a week ago I released a wordpress theme called Chrome tweaks. This theme was specially designed for a blog in the web browsers niche and my main objective was/is to get top rankings in search engines for certain keywords. So far everything works fine, but the reason I write this article is because I want to share some info about this niche and furthermore, some webmasters are curious (I know I would be too) and want some statistics .

To begin with, I know that in this period, Google Chrome is maybe one of the most searched keywords in the technology niche for the simple fact that it’s a product made by big G. Because the product is a browser, it creates other subniches, as with Firefox, we have for example three or four: themes, add-ons, tweaks and “in general”.

From what I’ve tested so far the most searched keywords are related to addons, which gives me the impression that this is by far the best niche. Why? Because if you are smart you would realize that you can sell addons when the right time comes or release some for free and your traffic will probably increase.

Besides that I can tell you that I am on the main page of Google (not in top 5) for some keywords related to add-ons and I get around 500-600 unique visitors for them. I also believe that the dudes from first and second position get approximately 2000 u/v, which is great. In my case I am now receiving a total of 1400 u/v/day for all the keywords related to this niche and bellow you have a graph from my Google Analytics account which shows the traffic on the Chrome Tweaks blog, which has little content.

I really like the idea of a Google browser as much as I dislike it, in terms of web design, because it’s a pain in the a** to tweak css and xhtml (for example a wordpress theme) for different browsers, especially for MS Internet Explorer. Besides that I think that Google’s new browser, Chrome, is like a safety plan for them because:

1. Microsoft puts in danger Google Adsense.
Yes that’s true. If you didn’t know, Microsoft plans to release some new features for its browsers (Internet Explorer 8 ) that will automatically block ads and when I say ads I think that adsense is their main priority. Just imagine that Microsoft, who has approximately 70% of the internet users, blocks Google’s main source of money Adsense.

It’s business and Google is smart enough to have a second plan, in this situation a browser 100% made and marketed by them.

The fact that Google’s search engine is so popular (for good reasons) gives me an idea of how many users will use Chrome as their main browser and how big G will for sure beat Firefox’s download record with about 100-500% more downloads in a single day (let’s hope they have enough bandwidth ).

2. A browser is like a gold mine when it comes to user information.
You all know that Google collects information from users easy enough to know how dumb or smart we are. A good example in this case is the Google Toolbar with a few options that grabs info, sends it to different google apps or bookmarks it. Now imagine how much user data they could collect with their own browser. G is smart? YES !
