Acosmin v3 centered – wordpress theme

You can also follow me on Twitter!

Well I received a few complains about my latest wordpress theme, Acosmin v3, because it’s not centered and on wide screen monitors in the right part, there is a lot of empty space. So I managed to remake it and fix a few bugs, added an hover statement to the li elements in the sidebar, smiles don’t have that border and padding anymore, it works on Firefox, IE7 and Opera etc… Here is a print screen of this wp theme or you can see it live on this blog:

You can download acosmin v3 centered from bellow and please, if you want of course, digg here or stumble

    Hello

    Congrats. The Centered theme is looking really nice.
    I did a mod for the earlier version (lefty one) to add the ‘Tags’ tag from WP in order to avoid the use of external plugins.

    Here its is if you like to add it to your own site:

    Add this to the Style.css file:

    /* ==== TAGS ==== */
    #posttags { margin: 4px; font-size: 11px; color:#8A98A2; }
    #posttags ul { border-bottom:1px dashed #EBEBEB; margin:0px 2px 2px; padding:0px 0px 2px; }
    #posttags a { test-decoration: none; color:#11A0FE; }
    #posttags li { display:inline; list-style-type:none; }
    #posttags li a { text-decoration: none; color:#11A0FE; }
    #posttags li a:hover { text-decoration: underline; color:#0063A8;}

    This will make the list use a smaller font to not bother the content of the post but still look nice.

    And in the index.php file, search this line…

    And just below that add this :

    That’s it. For now only works in the index file, but I believe if you add it to single.php is should work too.

    This is a screenshot for the final result:

    Hope you like it.

    Silla!

    PS: i’m still stuck with the search.php not working.

    You should use this site to see how it looks in all the browsers online. The comment section isn’t so pretty in Opera:

    Is it possible to delete the ‘Your website or blog’, so that if the commenter doesn’t have a site or blog, his/her name won’t be a link.

    Fantastic theme but go and download Google Toolbar for Firefox and then see what happens to the form areas. Suddenly they become ugly with yellow blows below each text area. Is there a way around this?

    First thanks for making this great theme available.

    I figured out how to fix the extra space in post page.

    Open comments.php and find this line:

    <pre>
    <p><textarea name=\"comment\" id=\"comment\" rows=\"10\" tabindex=\"4\" class=\"TextArea\" style=\"width: 450px; height:120px;\"></textarea></p>
    </pre>

    remove style=\"width: 450px; height:120px;\"

    Go to this line \".Comments .Form .TextArea\" in style.css, and change width:450px to 440px

    Suggeston (Optional):
    Remove overflow:hidden because it make the comment box impossible to scroll.

    Really nice theme! I’d like to use it but I’ve got a couple problems I’m hoping you can help me with. I’m using ‘Theme Test Drive’ to test out new themes, you won’t be able to see the problems live so I’ve taken a screen shot I’ve linked below.

    1. I use the “podPress” player and “WP-PostRatings” (AJAX rating system) plugins in every post. This is how it looks correctly on my current theme @ http://www.rockitpro.com, you can see the little rating boxes and the podpress media player.

    And this is how it looks with your theme: http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/6759/themeprobat7.gif

    Any ideas at all as to what could be causing these 2 problems? I’ve tested 8-10 other themes and none of them have this problem.

    I tried your acosminV2 theme and the podPress and WP-PostRatings looks fine in each post, it’s just V3 that messes them up. Maybe that can help figure out the problem.

  • ¬ Nate
    #847 February 20th, 2008 at 12:42 am

    Figured it out! In case anyone else runs into this problem, it’s the “sIFR 2.0.1 Official Add-on” in the header.php of this theme that was messing up podPress. I removed it and every thing’s working fine.

    Sorry for so many posts ;)

  • ¬ Nate
    #848 February 20th, 2008 at 1:01 am

    Scratch that, you left out the “php wp_head();” line in the header.php, I added it and now it’s working. Forget that earlier post.

    Hi, I’m currently using this theme and LOOOOOVE it.

    However, is there a way to incorporate browsing through prior entries? Currently there’s no option to get those entries that are more than say, 5 old.

    Hi!

    Thank you very much for such a nice theme. It really is. I must confess I’m a new one into all this stuff with wp. Could you help me out with one thing? I tried to translate the theme into cyrillic, but when I translate Categories, Recent comments, Polls etc in the sidebars the cyrillic words just disappear, What may be the problem? When I add cyrillic titles of categories – they look ok. But I cannot do the same with other stuff. Could you help?

    Any official word on the widget issue? This theme is perfect in every way, but I’d really like to be able to place some widgets. Both WordPress 2.3.3 and 2.5 RC2 state that no sidebars are defined, so widgets cannot be placed.

    Hello again.

    I’m having the same issue that Doug Has.

    On Firefox it rox but on IE 6 the frontpage seems right, but as soon as you enter a post, the right side collapses and a white box appears on top where the last comments should be.

    Any chance to fix this???

    I cannot force the users to change to Firefox as much as i’d like to.

    Прекрасная тема.
    Но я нашел такую проблему: в файле style.css прописаны файлы images/com_user.png и images/PostContentBlockLiIco.png, но самих файлов нет :(

    Nice theme.
    I find one problem: in style.css write files images/com_user.png and images/PostContentBlockLiIco.png, but in folder /images they are not present.

    P.S. Sorry for my english. I’m from Ukraine.

    nice theme..
    My question is, when I click on any tags using this theme, the tag page do not have paginations

    For example, for tags “sexy” should have result in 8 post, but only display 5.
    Then, the pagination link to the next 3 result not exist ..

    How do i fix this?
